Rooted in the maritime history of New Orleans, Baker, Lyman & Co. was founded in 1920 as an American chart agent and marine navigation products firm. From humble beginnings on the New Orleans waterfront, the company grew into one of the premier NOAA and British Admiralty chart agencies in the United States.

Lloyd J. Titus built Baker, Lyman into the multifaceted international marine provider it became — methodically transforming a traditional chart shop into a technology-forward marine delivery and support firm. His daughter, Corinne Titus, assumed the helm in 1986, continuing that transformation and guiding the company through decades of change in the maritime industry. Under her leadership, the average tenure of Baker Lyman associates extended beyond 20 years — and in some cases, beyond 60 years of service.

In 2021, the circle was completed when Erik Zibilich — who first walked through the Baker, Lyman door as a sales and inventory clerk over 40 years ago — acquired the company. With decades leading McCurnin Nautical, Horizon Nautical, New York Nautical, and international offices in Piraeus and London, Erik brings unmatched depth in the nautical chart field back to where his journey started.

The same chart specialists who served this company's customers for decades still pick up the phone today. The traditions of family ownership, a seasoned staff, and a century of institutional knowledge continue — now pointed toward the next hundred years.
